Overseas Sri Lankan Muslim Educational Trust (OSMET) is a UK registered charity fund (U.K Registered Charity No: 1072780) which was inaugurated in 1981. It is approved as a recognized charity organization in Sri Lanka, as well. OSMET was started with a view to provide scholarships for the deserving Muslim students living in Sri Lanka. It provides assistance for the students sitting for the G.C.E Advanced Level Examination and for continuing in the higher education streams of Science, Information Technology, Engineering and Medicine in universities in Sri Lanka. The philosophy of OSMET remains to be very simple by aiming to provide long term solutions to needy Muslim students in order to help them come up in their lives and be able to support their families on their own.
